Is ball head tripod good?
A great tripod head to start with is something like my favourite- a ball head. Ball heads are available in lightweight magnesium options as well as hydrostatic and built in grip types. They are very easy to use and quickly lock the camera into position.

Tighten the pan knob on the new head. Just like with removing the old head, all the parts on the new head need to be locked or it won’t screw on properly.
